Who?

I am Daniel Watts the founder of Elephant In The Room.

I was born Deaf as was my sister. My parents gave me and my sister the greatest gift that any parent could possibly give their child – the gift of love, independence and support.

Over the years, I have missed out on so many amazing quizzes, concerts, plays and so on. I felt this was not good enough, why should I or anyone miss out on things on account of their perceived differences?

I have noticed that many events and/or venues are inaccessible – you could argue exclusive rather than inclusive. I feel that this is a subject that is not talked or dealt with in a constructive way and this inspired me to found the “Elephant In The Room”.

Arts, Culture and Music can be inclusive if we try to work together to create a profound long lasting difference.
